Jada Pinkett Smith was interviewed by the Huffington Post and the reporter straight up asked her about the open marriage rumour.

Her answer....

I don’t hear an emphatic No.

Do you hear an emphatic No?

Watch below, it’s only a minute and a half, and tell me if you hear an emphatic No. We’ll meet back on the other side.

She says the word “no” initially but I’m not sure that’s a direct answer to his question and not, in this context, used as a conjuction...

Like “wellllll”...

What she does say is this:

“I've always told Will, 'You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay.’ Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man. I'm here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that's not for me to do for him. Or vice versa."

What does that mean? I don’t know what it means. It could mean a lot of things. And one of the things it could mean is that if he’s honest with her, and honours whatever arrangement they’ve made with each other, they don’t have to follow convention.

I appreciate that she’s not outright lying (this time). Like, you know, a certain Scientologist who may or may not be hitting on massage therapists.

My cousin Cat wrote to me yesterday after seeing these photos. Has Jada changed her face? It looks...like Madonna, non? Fuller in the cheeks?

While we’re on the subject of honesty then, they will do what they think they need to do and that’s fine, so long as I don’t have to hear about it in an interview about how “natural” they are. That’s the bigger issue, isn’t it? Celebrities are always going off about unfair judgment and while they may have a point there (ahem Ashley Judd) that point ends up getting totally undermined by what often follows the “don’t judge me” plea which is “I am true to myself and will always be guided by the inside and not the outside”. Really?
