OK, my new crush.
Did you read Gayle Forman’s If I Stay? You have time to do it this week before the movie opens on the weekend. It’s not a long book. It’ll take you a couple of hours. And then you won’t be able to help yourself and you’ll read the sequel, Where She Went, which is also quick. Where She Went is Adam’s book. And Adam will become your book boyfriend. If only Gayle Forman could write lyrics for real rock songs for real rock bands the way Adam sings them.
Adam is played by Jamie Blackley. We interviewed him and Forman on The Social last week. I’m telling you: he has it. He has that… quality. And the hair. And the accent. And the bone structure. But that won’t matter when you’re watching the film anyway because this character, this story, I know some people who’ve had to be carried out of the screenings. Which is why I’m excited to go. I can’t actually remember the last time I cried. Definitely not this year. So now it’s a challenge. I’m going for the challenge. And Jamie Blackley.
Chloe Grace Moretz, of course, is Mia, the girl, the girl who’s deciding about whether or not to stay. They’ve been waiting for her to rise. If I Stay might do it.
