We all know about Robert Downey Jr’s rise from self destruction to becoming one of the hottest commodities in Hollywood. But also… Jason Bateman. Although the effects of his demons were much less spectacular, he too struggled with recklessness and eventually realised it was time to clean that sh-t up.

The result, slow and steady, has been an impressive career over the last 6 or 7 years. There’s always work, and more often than not, the work is good. And he’s popular. And he’s likable. And the power people, they want to give him more. He’s also developing more on his own.

The entrepreneurial Bateman has partnered with Will Arnett to create a “comedy enterprise” called DumbDumb:

DumbDumb is a comedy enterprise led by Will Arnett and Jason Bateman. The twosome will create commercials along with short and long form programming for distribution across all platforms. For the new endeavor, DumbDumb will utilize web production, development, and marketing expertise from CollegeHumor.com, whose original content creations have been viewed over 800 million times. DumbDumb will create and produce digital content matching not only a brand's personality and marketing objectives but Arnett and Bateman's well-known comedic tone as well.

Their first ad was recently released for Orbit called The Prom Date. Jacek hasn’t seen it, but when he does he’ll be all over it. There are some classic Will moments here, I love how he says “breakies”, and Jason is soooo… his timing… it’s amazing:

Jason then is why I’m seeing The Switch. He’s why a Jennifer Aniston movie might not be so bad.

Here’s Jason in New York a couple of days ago walking around looking adorable in a suit, and out again today with his daughter Francesca.
