Jennifer Aniston endorses a line of hair products. So she talks about her hair a lot. That’s fine. She partly got famous for her hair. So this is a partnership that makes sense to me. PS. I would happily be paid to talk about my hair.

Anyway, in a new interview with Fashionista, she reveals a few of her hair rules.

No pixie cuts:
(My stylist Chris McMillan) has that thing where he’s like Edward Scissorhands. He just sees hair and he wants to cut it. He would love for me to go... he wants to just cut it all off, kind of like a pixie, which I will never do. And he always likes to give it a good two inches every year, just a healthy cut. He’s also suggested going back to dark brown. We play with different things. I do listen to him sometimes.

Yes. But everyone has to TRY a pixie at one point in their lives. In my opinion, the best time is in your 20s, when you’re supposed to be f-cking around with different looks. Also I COMPLETELY DISAGREE that when you’re over certain age that you have to short hair. You know that old fashioned rule? That older women shouldn’t have long ass hair? OBJECTION.

No Billy Idol:
I’m not a trend person really. I kind of wait for the trends to go. Platinum blond — unless it was a wig — no.

Platinum on a Chinese person is weird. I don’t think the tones are complimentary on the skin. If my skin tone worked with it, I would totally go platinum, just once, just to see how it feels. That said, it would f-ck my hair for a long time. So, yeah, maybe not a good idea.

Limit the shampoo:
Silicone is a culprit in most shampoos. Over time, it builds up and turns into a hard coating and it cracks and breaks and snaps your hair. [People were] always saying, 'Don’t wash your hair every day!' but it was impossible — because of all the oils and silicone — it would create this greaseball head of hair within a day. The Living Proof scientists over there at MIT found a molecule to replace the silicone. Therefore, your hair is lighter and cleaner for days. I’d say I go every two to three days easily without washing my hair.

COMPLETELY AGREE. I wash my hair maybe twice a week. Maybe. If I have to. If I’m travelling a lot I’ll wash it more so as not to stink out the person sitting next to me on the plane. But mostly it’s once a week. And I shower 3 times a day. Shower caps! Best invention! I’m telling you. I have good hair. No. I have great hair. It’s my best quality. Because I don’t wash it often. Just try it for a month. You’ll see the difference in the shine.
