She backed out of Project Runway citing a foot injury on Friday but managed to complete the Nautica Malibu Triathlon in just under 2 and a half hours on Sunday…
For those of you who were curious – it was not an Olympic distance but whatever…she did it. I didn’t.
This is Jennifer Lopez at various points throughout the race, clearly able to overcome her ailment. How hard could it have been to get gussied up and sit front row by the runway while jotting down a few notes?
I suppose we’ve all done the same. And doesn’t the mother of twins, with no real help from the nanny, doesn’t JLo deserve the some understanding? Or was it simply a case of overcommitment. I’m a “yes” person myself. Perhaps La Lopez is the same. If that’s the case though, her publicist might want to work on her excuses. The foot injury was lame.
Still… it was an accomplishment to finish. And she was greeted at the finish by an emaciated Marc Anthony a full hour behind former costar Matthew McConaughey who came in at 90 minutes, showing off his ill proportioned body and squatting full spread on the beach in his wetsuit.
Jennifer raised almost $127K for the Children’s Hospital in LA and as I’ve asked in the past of the Pitts – did she match with her own money? $127 K is like chump change for Jennifer Lopez. It’s what she spends on light bulbs in her house… Nothing. Then again, punishing your body for over 2 hours isn’t exactly the same as inviting People Magazine into your chateau to photograph your kids.
Is it truly philanthropy if you’re not really putting up your own cash? If you make no sacrifice at all? Brangelunatics certainly think so…
