Part of it is our fault, why we can’t get over Bennifer – that is, the precious Gossip Artifact that was Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. Part of it is their fault. They can’t stop talking about it. JLO’s book True Love comes out tomorrow. You can’t call your book True Love without talking about your love life. And the most spectacular, most exciting part of her love life was her relationship and subsequent broken engagement with Jennifer Garner’s current husband.
To promote True Love, JLO was interviewed by Maria Shriver for The Today Show – airing today and tomorrow. Shriver gets right to it, pretty much calling out the fact that JLO went from Ben to Marc Anthony in…5 minutes:
“Right away when you broke up with Ben Affleck, Marc Anthony was there, like, two days later, and you were in.”
JLO’s response:
“Right, you’re absolutely right. It was probably my first big heartbreak, and to have one of my best friends who I’d known for years who I actually love and did have chemistry with come into my life and say, ‘I’m here.’ What you need to know is, nobody can save you or heal you. Only you can do that for you.”
Her “first big heartbreak”…OK. But remember, God love her, she was legit MARRIED two times before that!
The good news is that she’s single now. And seems to intend to live there for a while:
“I’m open to love, but right now, I think it’s better to just be on my own for a minute and learn more about myself.” This is always what she says like a week before she hooks up with a backup dancer.
