Jennifer Lopez’s new album AKA dropped yesterday. She spent the day in New York doing promotion and gathered with friends and family to celebrate. It was evidently a pink day.
You know what word I keep hearing about her right now in reference to the record?
Twerk.
Ugh.
It’s because she released a teaser video for the song Booty. And she’s certainly got one. And she works it better than almost everyone. Better than Miley Cyrus and 2013.
But that happened in 2013. That word took over 2013. And is permanently pop-culture associated with someone else. If the word was associated with JLO, would you feel differently about it? I wish my ass could do all the things she’s doing with it in this video. The ass is the multi-hyphenate.
