I really, really appreciate a prominent collar, a collar that is the focus of a particular blouse or a dress. Especially a sharp white one which carries with it a few assumptions: it’s subtle and subdued, it wants to live in the middle of the room, it has no interest in being noticed until much later, when all the razzle dazzlers have burned off their appeal, it never wants to be loud...
Which is not usually the philosophy of the Sequin. The Sequin is almost the exact opposite.
But I find the combination of the two totally irresistible. Like the undeniable chemistry between the school boy and the bad girl, or the quiet girl and the boy who will be trouble. So yeah, I’m really into this Tory Burch dress. But I do wish she’d have styled her hair differently. God the school marm half pinned up style needs to die.
