Answer honestly: how curious are you about this conversation? How badly would you have wanted to eavesdrop on Joaquin Phoenix and Moby? Joaquin joined his ma and sisters last night at the PETA 35th anniversary event in honour of River Phoenix. They named an award after him.
Joaquin was last seen in Woody Allen’s Irrational Man with Emma Stone. It was reported in August that he’ll be working again with M Night Shyamalan. If it goes forward, it’ll be their 3rd collaboration after Signs and The Village. I think I’m the only person who liked The Village. But back then, I loved Joaquin.
You remember what I just said about Matt Damon in the previous post? About caring how his movies perform and hustling for them? And how some actors think their work should begin and end on set? That would be Joaquin Phoenix. Joaquin Phoenix makes maybe one film a year. That’s, what?, like 8 weeks? If it were me, and I’d hate the promotional part of the job a lot less knowing that for 10 months of the year, I’d have more than enough money to spend, and can pretty much do whatever I want, on no fixed schedule.
