How much promotion did Johnny Depp put in for Into The Woods? Almost none, right? Pretty sure he wasn’t at any of the premieres, screenings, Q&As. He’s big enough to cut that out of his job description when he wants to now. I’m not sure though that he’ll be able to get away with it for Mortdecai though.
Mortdecai opens January 23 and, well, it looks like it. It looks like a January movie – total sh-t. Still, I’m looking forward to it. Not seeing it but watching them pretend to want to sell it. Johnny, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor…
I mean there has to be at least ONE premiere, right? If it happens, those pictures will be everywhere – awkward and amazing.
A new trailer for Mortdecai was released a couple of days ago. This time we see Johnny and G kissing. Then both gagging afterwards. Oh ha ha. Everyone hates G so who wouldn’t gag? But, really, isn’t it Johnny Depp who makes us gag now? If you’ve seen Into The Woods, you might strongly agree. A reader called Nicole emailed me yesterday with the following note:
“Have seen Johnny Depp's performance described as ‘rapey’ by more than one person on social media.”
