In 2010, Jon Hamm was runner-up to Ryan Reynolds for People’s Sexiest Man Alive. Entertainment Weekly, in their Top 10 list of Entertainers of the Year, ranked him second after Taylor Swift.
Um, Jon Hamm is #2 to no one. Probably because he really doesn’t give a sh-t about being #1. The truth is few are as versatile as Hamm is right now. This year he played Don Draper, lost his hand on 30 Rock, hosted SNL twice, was the buzzkill in The Town, and participated in the Emmy Awards opening song and dance alongside the Glee people. I mean….
Who’s gonna go heads up against Jon Hamm and win? Please.
There’s also this – his quote for Entertainment Weekly when asked to sum up the year:
“2010: What a mathematically round, accessible number. 2010 was supposed to be ‘the year we make contact’ (wrong again, Arthur C. Clarke), but for me 2010 was just a tremendously exciting, rewarding year. Very busy, full of very challenging work and amazing opportunities. My eternal pessimist comes out whenever things get as good as they have been, however, and I will say that 2010 was the best year I will ever have. Also 2011 is a prime number. Ugh – I hate primes; they think they’re so special.”
See?
I f-cking love him.
Here he is yesterday in New York at a luncheon for Jaeger-LeCoultre. Be happy he’s making money outside acting. Remember, Jon Hamm earns less per episode than that kid in Two and a Half Men.
