Jacek was just processing these pictures a few minutes ago and I heard him mutter under his breath, “This little Bieber punk, just looking at him makes me angry”. We are straight up OLD. And the thing is, we are professionally obliged to care about him. On the pop culture front, obviously, but also because I am Canadian, and I work for a Canadian tv show, and Bieber being Canadian, it’s a f-cking full court press in this country every day when it comes to this kid. Maybe not even just in this country. All across North America too.
But Justin Bieber managed to arrive in Vancouver to very little fanfare yesterday, certainly not the screaming weepers he’s used to, to spend some time with his dad and his uncle before his show here next week. Be warned then if you live in the city – avoid downtown if you can this weekend because his fans, they will trample you without hesitation.
In other Bieber news, his movie poster and title were just revealed today...what?
No, I didn’t know either but there’s a movie coming out about his life. And he plays/is himself. In February.
Never Say Never.
I know. I don’t get it either.
But that’s not all. In addition to the music, and the touring, and the movie (!!!), he might also be doing Punk’d with Ashton Kutcher AND he’s launching his own line of ... NAIL POLISH.
Here’s where it gets hard for me. Because I am a nails person. I always, always have a proper manicure. And for me the more obnoxious the colour the better (matte please no shimmer). Chances are very, very good that Bieber’s colours will appeal to me. I canNOT be buying Bieber polish. Right?
Also attached – video of Bieber’s arrival. I won’t lie, I’m kinda into it that there wasn’t a fleet of SUVs waiting for him. That they had to go to the car rental like regular folks to get their own ride.
And... check out how long he hugs his dad for. It’s cute. It’s ... endearing, and maybe even a little redeeming.
