Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick are in Berlin today for Trolls. As I mentioned yesterday, the movie doesn’t come out until November so I didn’t understand why we were being told to care about it now. But then I realised they’re on their way to Cannes. And they’re splashing out a big presentation for the movie there. And also, according to Roger Friedman there’s also the fact that Dreamworks was just bought by Comcast. So, really, it’s not for the audience, it’s for the money. And so they’ve timed the release of JT’s song, Can’t Stop The Feeling, as part of the hype.
Speaking of JT though, because when it comes to JT, it’s always all about JT, check out this brilliant tweet that came at me:
I love the song but #cantstopthefeeling is obvs JT's way into the Oscars - a la Pharrell / Happy. @LaineyGossip

Yep. That’s it. That’s JT’s Oscar in 2017 (unless Adele can write a song for the next Reese Witherspoon movie). And we’ll have to suffer through that. Months of it. You might as well start getting used to it now. What I’ll hold onto is the fact that he’ll be winning an Oscar for MUSIC when you know he thinks of himself as an actor too. Which…
Give him the Oscar for music.
