While every serious actor is putting on an award season face as the critics line up with their “best” lists and Oscar campaigning begins in earnest, Justin Timberlake, who desperately wants a nomination, had to pose with Yogi the other day at the premiere of the Yogi Bear movie. Pippy probably had himself a little temper tantrum in the car after this. Because, well, the real contenders aren’t getting their pictures taken next to plushies.

And the 16th annual Critics’ Choice Award nominees were announced this morning. Here are the candidates for Best Supporting Actor:

Christian Bale, The Fighter
Andrew Garfield, The Social Network
Jeremy Renner, The Town
Sam Rockwell, Conviction
Mark Ruffalo, The Kids Are All Right
Geoffrey Rush, The King’s Speech

The Golden Globe nominations are tomorrow morning. That’s Pippy’s best hope. Because, well, you know, the HFPA has, um, different standards. At this point though, considering that list of names and those performances, it was a F-CKING JOKE for him to even dream it, a F-CKING DISGRACE for him to even try for it, and a F-CKING EMBARRASSMENT for those who actually suggested it.

PS. The Social Network is taking everything early – NBR and DC already and the Boston Film Critics and LA Film Critics both named it Best Picture this weekend. It’s the heavy, heavy favourite.
