Dead Accounts premiered last night in New York. Here’s Katie Holmes at curtain call and at the party. She is not wearing Holmes & Yang because I like this dress very much, especially the scribble and scratch print. Does it come in a button-up blouse? That would make me so happy.
As for her performance, well, Katie wasn’t helped by the fact that the play overall was not enthusiastically received. Most critics though seemed to agree that she was... OK. Nothing spectacular, and perhaps still lacking maturity as a stage actor, but competent nonetheless. So, like, a solid B. Which, taken altogether overall over the last 6 months still counts as a win. She left her husband on the offensive, sent his Church into retreat, established herself as a superhero idol for single mothers, and has returned to work respectably on Broadway. Not a bad way to close the year.
And her hair is amazing.
Her hair is what Princess Catherine’s could be, if perhaps she had a better stylist, or a better sense of the style herself.
