I thought we were over this 4 years ago when she pulled the escape hatch out of Scientology. But Katie Holmes decided to bring back the Tom Bot last night at the MET Gala to go with her hair and her dress, I guess? What is she wearing? Zac Posen. But, actually, Technology Has No Soul. This is when you take the theme way too seriously. Like, Katie Holmes isn’t the first name that comes to mind when I think of fashion performance art on a red carpet. Or, maybe she should be. In some of these shots, I wouldn’t be able to tell if it was her or her wax figure at Madame Tussauds.
That said, as far as Zac Posens go, this wasn’t the worst of the night. In fact, this dress is so un-Zac Posen, I actually don’t hate it. Quite pretty the way it falls and her extensions are doing a good job of covering the piece’s weakness in the chest area, where the size seems off. Not unlike her spirit, strangely.
