Kate Hudson lit up the carpet in London last night at the Elle Style Awards, not because she’s blonde but because she simply pops. Kate Hudson – warm and fuzzy, fresh baked cookies and giggles. And super thin in white, though I gather from my email that the bump-obsessed have already pulled out the magnifying glasses to analyse her the burger she has in her belly.

And then there’s Keira Knightley. Keira the morose. Keira who can suck the life out of the best party. Keira showed up, chic in black, with dead eyes and the signature pout – a beautiful but soggy tuna sandwich to Kate’s brownies.
