Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban made their way through LAX on Friday presumably for Nashville, where the CMA Awards are happening on November 9th. Keith is nominated for Entertainer of the Year which I’m told he’s desperate to win, and he was supposed to be performing but his reps just confirmed on Thursday that he’ll require minor out-patient surgery to have a polyp removed from a vocal cord. As such, he’s had to rearrange his schedule although he’ll apparently be able to honour “one-song appearance commitments” until the procedure, at which point he’ll shut it down for full recovery...which I guess means he’s playing injured on Wednesday. Hero! Rumour has it, he’ll be paired with that low singer who won American Idol, Scotty McCreery.

(Sidebar: did you read Entertainment Weekly’s review of low singer’s debut album? It’s HILARIOUS:

Scott McCreery may be the oldest 18-year-old alive. On Clear as Day, American Idol’s latest champ sounds like he’s 52, and not just because of the Randy Travis baritone coming from his Opie Taylor mouth. It’s that he’s anticipating being “old and gray” and reliving high school memories that are still “clear as day” (um, that’s because he hasn’t graduated yet). His world’s so archaic, girls don’t even send him texts: He has to say “Write My Number On Your Hand.”

Amazing, right?)

Anyway, is CMA voting still happening? Can Keith earn some sympathy votes? It’ll take a lot of them to beat out Taylor Swift. And all that stress seems to be taking its toll. Keith looks grumpy, non?

As for his wife, this is the first sighting we’ve had of her in a long time. She was probably avoiding the embarrassment of Trespass - click here for a refresher. Now that there’s something else to focus on, another conversation in play; it’s safe for Gran to emerge. Also, since she’ll be walking a carpet soon, maybe all her recent procedures have settled in properly.
