The Cambridges on the move

Kensington Palace announced today that Prince William and Princess Catherine will be spending more time in London starting this fall. As you know, they’ve been living at Anmer Hall in Norfolk. But William has confirmed that he’ll be leaving the East Anglia Air Ambulance after a two year term. Which means that he’s now ready to be a fulltime royal, taking on fulltime royal duties on behalf of the Queen, based officially out of Kensington Palace. The statement also noted that Big G and Charlotte would be starting school and nursery in London.

This was not a surprise to most, certainly not after the holidays when the Queen was ill and couldn’t attend many of her usual engagements. Her Majesty turns 91 this year. It’s time for Will and Kate to step up. The two have been criticised for their “work shyness” and that noise has only been getting louder and louder. I’m not sure I believe all the rumours about the Queen being pissed that they weren’t as committed as she would have wanted them to be, considering that, technically, they’ve done their job extending the family line. But publicly, it’s really not a good look to be only showing up now and again sporadically when your grandparents, who are almost at the century mark, are out there hustling all the time.

That brings us to Prince Harry… and how close he is with the Queen…and he’d want her to be there on his wedding day, right?
