My mother’s favourite thing to say in English is: why you say sorry when you always sorry?
It’s tough love and she’s a tough bitch but she has a point.
So after worldwide coverage of her arrest, Lindsay Lohan’s attorney has released the following statement:
"Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease. Since Lindsay transitioned to outpatient care, she has been monitored on a SCRAM bracelet and tested daily in order to support her sobriety. Throughout this period, I have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies. Unfortunately, late yesterday I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care."
Relapsed yesterday? Bet your boob just in the next few days, or even hours, it’ll come to light that relapse likely did not occur only yesterday. As I mentioned earlier, Lilo had been rumoured to have been using for days – just not booze which is why it went “undetected”.
The problem here, among many, is that the poor girl was set up to fail. Most facilities upon rehab release have a sobriety plan – a road map to help an addict stay clean that often involves examination into lifestyle and removal of influences that can lead back to addiction. You don’t need to be an expert to figure that out.
And still… even before she was out of Promises, Lindsay was set up to fail, immediately heading to Malibu for late night parties, surrounded by those freely using drugs and alcohol, and SUPPORTED by her mother who clearly didn’t seem to have a problem with her daughter’s post-treatment hang outs, or the guests that were there. Like Calum Best, the exboyfriend known to use and abuse on a regular basis.
Well no wonder she couldn’t last a month.
And while it’s obviously not entirely Dina’s fault… at the same time, has she done enough? Has she done anything?
