When we were in Dubai a couple of years ago, I went into the Tom Ford store to buy a pair of sunglasses. Browsed through some of the other items and almost fell over at the prices. There’s expensive, and then there’s Tom Ford. And while, yes, it’s the materials, of course, and the craftsmanship, totally, it’s also the way he presented it from the beginning. He dictated and everyone else accepted it. It’s... classic business authority. Does he get enough credit for that? Sh-t, what a dumb c-nt I am. Did I just ask if a man who sells shoes for $35K gets enough credit...?
