Blue seems to be the sartorial theme for Berenice Bejo in Cannes. Click here to see the outfit she wore to the photo call earlier today. And here she is in a gorgeous blue blazer over white tulle at the Palais for the premiere of Le Passe tonight. I don’t love tulle for its princess association. But the structured jacket over this totally balances it out. Great look.

Sarah wrote in her Cannes preview that Le Passe is a guaranteed foreign language contender and people are talking already like Bejo might be nominated for Best Actress. I dunno. It’s early. And it’s a crowded field. Especially when Meryl Streep is already leading the conversation (August: Osage County) and Nicole Kidman’s playing Princess Grace.

Also, there’s Marion Cotillard.

Marion has two films in the festival. James Gray’s The Immigrant is one of the most highly anticipated screenings. A clip from the film was released online earlier but has already been pulled down. As Sarah noted, they love James Gray in Cannes and The Immigrant could win the Palme d’Or. As you know, while Cannes loves Gray, the Academy loves Marion. She could be part of award season conversations too.

Marion’s other film at Cannes is Blood Ties directed by... Guillaume Canet. Marion and Guillaume to look forward to on the carpet, together! Next week!

Here’s Marion at the Chopard event today in a dress that’s too similar to the one she wore to the MET Gala and...kinda looks like a towel?
