You know who you are. There are a lot of you who love this, who nostalgia for this – Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, and how you like them apples.

Matt and Ben were together again on Friday night at the Project Greenlight event for HBO. It’s not often they’re on a red carpet together. So when they show up, side by side, and being all Matt+Ben, like arm in arm and whispering jokes to each other and laughing their secret laughs, well, we eat that sh-t up. They are, and will always be, each other’s best date.

And these two are lucky too. How many of them start off as best friends? Especially since they started off as best friends pre-fame? Usually the script says that one is more successful than the other, more celebrated than the other. Leonardo DiCaprio and Lukas Haas. There. I don’t need to give you another example. But Matt did not eclipse Ben. And Ben did not eclipse Matt. And here they are, almost 20 years after Good Will Hunting, still finishing sentences for each other.

It was Ben who confirmed on Friday night while being interviewed that Matt will indeed be Jason Bourne again with Matt finishing off to reveal that the film will be released in 2016, to be directed by Paul Greengrass (source). I texted Duana about this, about the rareness of Matt and Ben. And, of course, because she’s wise as all f-ck, she pointed out that they never had to compete, really. The way she sees it, “they’re Peanut Butter and Jelly, not Peanut Butter and Crunchy Peanut Butter”. Agree or disagree?
