Matt Damon attended the 6th Annual Made in NY Awards at Gracie Mansion last night. Matt, of course, famously, is from Boston. Last night, Boston destroyed the Vancouver Canucks in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. Totally embarrassing. The Canucks were completely undressed. I wonder if Matt arrived, posed for photos, and then went off to find a television.
As you can see, Matt’s hair is short again. He’d been wearing it long for a few months while shooting We Bought a Zoo with Scarlett Johansson. Cameron Crowe directed the film which is due for release in December in time for awards contention. They say, and it’s VERY early still, that it might have a shot. Keep in mind, it all changes once people actually SEE the movies. I remember a few years ago, as much as 7 months before the release of Frost/Nixon, and they were still cutting it, everyone was already calling for it to be a sure bet.
Matt is already on to his next project. Does he ever stop working? He still has Margaret that has yet to hit theatres, and Soderbergh’s Contagion, plus the aforementioned Zoo, and will soon begin work on the Liberace project with Michael Douglas, and there’s Elysium with Jodie Foster which is supposed to start production by the end of the summer. And I’m still holding on to my dream: that they’ll all be there, at the Kodak for the Oscars on February 26, 2012 – Danny, Rusty, and Little Linus.
