It was the strongest Saturday Night Live this season with Jimmy Fallon hosting. Tina! Amy! Tracy’s signature Christmas move! And the ice skating at the end. WILL ARNETT WAS THERE! So much happiness! My favourite sketch was Beethoven, although it may have been a minute too long. And how smart was the one about the off-Broadway show? (Did anyone else wonder why the wicked smaht Tim Tebow sketch didn’t come earlier? In place of the one with Kristen Wiig trying to take over the party? It made sense later during the farewell for logistics. On a different night I wonder if the lineup would have changed.)

As for the musical guest, Michael Buble, he was a good straight-man in the duets commercial, non? I couldn’t breathe when the Low Singer came on. And then Fred Armisen’s Thom Yorke sent me over. To the point where I had to rewind it back because I missed everything that came after, only to pause again over Lady Gaga.

I played the whole thing back right before nap time yesterday and wondered to myself whether or not I would have enjoyed the show so much if it weren’t this time of year. The truth is I’ve been Christmas programmed to not be such a bitch right now. I can’t help it. Sometimes you have to give yourself over to Santa. And Mariah Carey.

“Jesus I’m so much better than youuuuuu!”

Here’s Buble arriving back home in Vancouver for the holidays on Sunday afternoon.
