It was Michael Sheen’s birthday yesterday. He spent it with Rachel McAdams in LA. They were photographed out for lunch. The day before they were also photographed running errands, very happy, very affectionate, VERY cute. Tonight is the Hollywood premiere of The Vow. Seems a good assumption that he’ll join her on the carpet.

Now that Michael has completed his West End run of Hamlet, there may be more room on the schedule for some events. Like...the Oscars? Woody Allen will most assuredly not attend. Owen Wilson represented the film at the SAGs. Perhaps it can be their turn on February 26th?

Last week I wrote about Paul Bettany dropping out of the pilot for the Showtime series Masters of Sex to be directed by John Madden. Click here for a refresher. It’s now confirmed that Sheen has replaced Bettany in the lead role. Sheen will also produce and filming will begin next month in New York.

So we have Michael Sheen on series tv and Ewan McGregor (I’m assuming they’ll get picked up because, I mean, well, given the talent they’d have to be giant bombs not to) on series tv (pics of him coming up soon) and more and more, it seems the Actors, they’re entertaining conversations about series tv...closing the gulf between Film and TV?
