I wrote about Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen the other day when they were spotted at Dublin airport – click here for a refresher. They were there because Michael Sheen received the James Joyce Award from the Literary and Historical Society of University College Dublin. Thanks to all of you who wrote in to let me know.

And where next?

Port Talbot, South Wales which is Michael’s hometown. They’ve been shopping at Aberavon Shopping Centre and were spotted at his favourite ice cream parlour. Ice cream is always better outside of North America. I wonder if it’s a pasteurisation thing. You know where I’ve had the best ice cream?

Poland.

Ice cream in Polish is “lody”. I like calling it “low-dee”. This cracks Jacek up all the time. In proper though it’s pronounced “luh-deh”. Sort of. Some Polish sounds can’t be spelled phonetically.
