Michelle Williams covers the new issue of UK Elle. She looks SO beautiful. Michelle of course is promoting My Week With Marilyn for which she may receive yet another Oscar nomination. As you know, she plays Marilyn Monroe and there has already been much discussion about the accent, the mannerisms, the body, the Marilyn. As I wrote when the trailer was first released - click here if you missed that article - I think she has the vulnerability to make it work and I very much look forward to seeing the entire film.
While much of the discussion with the magazine had to do with her role, there was some talk of style and in particular her hair during which she gives us a surprising moment of candour and emotion. Candour from her. Emotion from me. You too?
"What Matilda would love is for her mom to grow out the cropped hair, though that's unlikely to happen any time soon. I've really grown into it - I feel like myself with short hair. And it's been a really long time since I had long hair, five years. Of course, the only people who like it are gay men and my girlfriends. Straight men across the board are not into this hair! I (first) cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it.”
