A couple of weeks ago, I posted this article about Mickey Rourke’s Oscar chances. He is a lock for a nomination and even considered the frontrunner …at the moment. But as mentioned already, Mickey has few friends in Hollywood, having alienated and insulted so many players up and down the ladder, it’ll be exceedingly difficult for him to score support among the voters, especially when the campaign against him has officially kicked off.

The Daily Beast published a text message yesterday allegedly written by Mickey trashing the performance of his friend and Best Actor competitor Sean Penn, considered to be #2 in the running, for his brilliant turn as Harvey Milk:

“Look seans an old friend of mine and i didnt buy his performance at all—thought he did an average pretend acting like he was gay besides hes one of the most homophobic people i kno.”

Mickey’s publicist has quickly denied that he’d ever disparage such a good friend but source after source has been cited with corroborating accounts of bad behaviour and disrespect on Mickey’s part towards Sean who may not be popular with the paps but is extremely popular among his peers.

Needless to say, the anti-Mickey movement is building momentum. Should he win at the Globes, it’ll get even nastier. Before you start feeling sorry for him though, remember, one brilliant performance doesn’t wipe out years of horrid abusive behaviour. This is what happens when you sh-t on everyone around you.
