Miley Cyrus is currently on holiday with her dad in Mexico, photographed on the beach yesterday at their resort. It’s a brief break before heavy promotion for her upcoming new album Can’t Be Tamed dropping June 22nd.
While I was in Cannes, Miley performed Can’t Be Tamed on Dancing with the Lame Sh-ts. Interesting strategy. Who watches Dancing with the Lame Sh-ts? A lot of tasteless people, yes, but is it her fanbase? Is it a new fanbase she’s cultivating? So she’s cultivating old people and the MiniVan Majority? Not sure about this strategy. A wide audience is one thing, but the right audience is so much more important.
The right audience for Miley is the MuchMusic Video Awards. She’s hosting on June 20th in Toronto and performing too, along with Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Adam Lambert, Ke$ha, and Mariana’s Trench. JailBait in a cage is coming to Canada. And not going to college, for now. Miley recently explained in a radio interview that:
"My sister went to MTSU in Nashville, so I'd probably want to be there with all my friends, but I'm not gonna go to college right now. I am a firm believer that you can go back at any age you want, because my grandma went back to college at 62 years old."
Yes, college is optional when your parents pimp you out early to pad their accounts. And don’t call Miley a little girl anymore either. Don’t force her into staying a child:
"No one ever wants to see someone grow up. It's like when Hilary Duff started growing up off the Disney Channel. Everyone thought she was anorexic and she did this and that. It's just because she grew up! She didn't look like a 12-year-old anymore."
See the way I remember it was that Hilary Duff looked really healthy. And then all of a sudden, around when she was dating Joel Madden, she looked really unhealthy. Click here for a refresher.
