Canada doesn’t have a star system. Makes me crazy. In other countries, in the UK, in Australia, in France, in Spain, all over Europe, there is a local star system with many, many celebrities that don’t translate across borders but, who nevertheless, form the foundation for a thriving entertainment ecosystem indigenous to that particular region. And it’s not as if what they’re offering is any different, or better, sometimes even worse, than what we have here.

But still…

Canadians seem averse to it. Then they complain about the lack of support for Canadian talent.

Anyway, this is the bodacious Monica Bellucci with her husband Vincent Cassel (yum!) at the Cesar Film Awards in Paris the other night. I’ve seen her in Cannes so I’ve been witness to the frenzy: Europeans they go batsh-t over Monica. Like crazy swarming and mobbing cars.

Monica and Vincent have been married almost 10 years. Their relationship is the subject of much tabloid speculation. Rumour has it they’ve agreed to take lovers, so long as it doesn’t become too public, and this in turn has supposedly solidified their partnership. Rare that an arrangement like this works. I am not so evolved. I wish but I am weak.
