Hi Duana, We are expecting our second daughter in a few weeks and haven’t yet settled on a name. For our first daughter, her name came super easily. We both had really liked the name Serena and it was the natural choice - we hadn’t really thought of any other names, which in retrospect is a bit surprising given my husband’s tendency for giving everyone a nickname and she is now almost three without a nickname in sight. Full Article

Hey Duana! We are expecting late spring this year, and don’t know what gender the baby will be.   The longer I sit on names, the less they seem to appeal to me... we do want names that would be easily said in English or French. Ages ago, we came across the name Adara for a daughter. Full Article

Dear Duana, A very good friend of mine is due to give birth to baby #3 next week. She massively struggles with names (this is the text she sent me earlier today: "Why is naming a human soooo difficult???"), but she and her partner did an exceptional job coming up with Lachlan and Magnus for their first two: marvellous strong names for two silly, sweet boys. Full Article

Hi Duana! I had written to you months ago about baby #3 due in May (not knowing what the baby’s gender would be) and stressing about what to name the babe if it was a boy. We loved the name Isaiah but it is way to similar to our daughter’s name Eliza, which is why I reached out to you!  Well. Full Article

Hi, We are expecting our first child any day now and we don’t know the baby’s gender. We have a boy name picked out already. My husband seems to like very feminine names [for girls] that end in “a” (his favorite is Shoshana), and I tend to like more gender neutral names, or names that could have a fun nickname (my favorites are Shiloh and Emerson). Full Article

Dear Duana, Help! We're expecting our second boy in a week [Duana: less than that now, since I got this letter a few days ago] and we've finally found a name that we like. The problem is that it is much more common as a girl's name: Isabeau. Some people assume it is the masculine form of Isabelle, but in fact it's a medieval version of the name Isabel/Isabelle. Full Article

Hi Duana!   I am due to have our 2nd child in late April, and I really think I need your help!   Our daughter is called Alexandra. She’s 3 and I love her name, and a lot of the reason we chose it was the flexibility it affords. On its own it’s a strong name, but I also like that she can stretch it different ways as she grows into it. Full Article

Hi Duana!  We're getting close to the due date and I can no longer tell if something I thought was too gimmicky actually isn't, or if it's just the pressure of not having a name that's making me fuzzy. I need some level-headed advice!  Baby number 2 is due mid-May and we don't know if it's a boy or a girl. Full Article

Hi Duana, I am pregnant with my first. We’re not going to be finding out the baby's sex. While my partner and I agree on our boys’ names, I'm struggling with the idea that some of my top picks for girls will be too matchy-matchy with my own name.  I have fallen in love with the name Tessa. Full Article

Dear Duana,   Thanks for existing. I’m having my second child, a baby girl, in three weeks’ time (my due date got brought forward by a month! sorry about the short lead time).   We’re struggling for names. Our first daughter is 6 years old and called Quinn. I love her and her name, and remain committed to another unisex name for our second daughter. Full Article
