As mentioned earlier, my friend M alerted me to the latest this morning. But here’s the background.

For over a year now everyone has been talking about Nicki Minaj. Minaj’s new album dropped this week. And deservingly so. Minaj’s new album just dropped but she’s already had a #1 single and several entries on the charts, and the support of almost every major player in the industry.

So... this didn’t go over well with Lil Kim. Kim’s been bitching about Minaj ripping off her style. So then Minaj, in a track with Eminem, seemed to counter:

Word that bitch mad cuz cause I took the spot?
Well, bitch, if you ain't sh-ttin' then get off the pot
Got some n----s out in Brooklyn that'll off your top.

Please.

It gets better.

Although Minaj doesn’t specify that her lyrics were targeted at Kim, all that matters was that Lil Kim took it that way. And retaliated with some words of her own:

"I got more love from Queens than this bitch do. I will erase this bitch's Social Security number.
First of all, I don't even need a record right now, I'll kill that bitch with my old sh-t! I don't never let nothing take me off my grind. Money over these bum-ass bitches.”

I will kill that bitch with my old sh-t is my new life motto.

Anyway, now Minaj is trying to play down the feud. Kind of. In a really patronising, condescending, You are an OLD HASBEEN STEP OFF MY STAGE kind of way, telling a radio station that:

"I felt like, (Lil Kim is) going to go down in history now as a sore loser as opposed to going down in history as the queen because if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. You don't have to feel the need to put somebody down to make yourself feel better. It's like when you see Gaga, you see (influence from) Madonna, but Madonna never hated on Gaga. You know, the same way she opened doors for me, I'm now opening doors for you (Lil Kim). Because nobody was even playing your music and you... couldn't get an interview to save your life. But now you (are) getting interviews and now every interview you do, they (are) asking you about Nicki Minaj.”

Ohhhhhhh no she didn’t!

Yes. Yes she did. Delightfully!

Obviously Kim isn’t going to take that up the ass without an answer. So the last word – so far – on the matter is this, Kim going off on Minaj to H8terade Radio:

“That was cute for her. Bitches like her do sh-t like that. Talk on ho, it’s easy talk when them album sales aint back yet. Since you talking ’bout the history books, let’s talk about the f-cking History books damn it. Bitch I got a grammy, bitch. I got number ones sweety. Source gave my last album 5 motherf-cking mics ho. What the f-ck they give you?”

Well...

Here’s the thing...

Minaj’s Pink Friday is projected to sell big this week. And last night she performed in New York at the Hammerstein Ballroom with her friends. Like Drake. And Kanye West. And Fabolous. And Keyshia Cole. And Rihanna.

Not exactly nobodies.

Also...

Her ass.

Is crazy.

And Kim must be losing her sh-t.

So no, this Girl Sh-t isn’t over. Not even close.
