Nicole Kidman, on many occasions, has denied f-cking around with her face. She has always insisted that the immobilisation that’s frightened us so over the last few years is totally natural. Until now.

Maybe?

The UK and Euro entertainment press is often full of sh-t. And this story… this story stanks of sketch. The source is the Daily Mail which is never confidence inspiring. Their source is a “German interviewer” who is unreferenced. There’s no publication citation, there’s no link, there’s nothing. There is however a quote that they claim is attributed to Gran after she was asked by said unnamed German journalist how she keeps her face wrinkle-free:

‘I’ve tried a lot of things but apart from working out and a good diet most things don’t help. I even tried Botox but I didn’t like how my face looked afterwards. Now I don’t use it anymore - and I can move my forehead again.’

I don’t know if I can see her saying that. “I can move my forehead again.” I don’t know that she would address the snickering over her forehead, directly challenge it. She’d definitely insist that she no longer uses Botox, sure, and she’d absolutely claim to have used it very infrequently, but I have a hard time believing that she wouldn’t give some airy fairy love reason for quitting the needles.

Like…

“I tried it once and it wasn’t for me, especially not after Sunday Rose who reminded me of the magical beauty of nature. Once you’ve given birth, you appreciate your body more, and what you look like on the outside matters less, and you care for your inside beauty more, because you know its strength and its awesomeness.”

Right?

That’s more like my Gran. My Gran would find a way to turn Botox into a statement about motherhood for the MiniVan Majority. My Gran would never acknowledge and implicitly validate the forehead criticism. And during an Oscar campaign? I’m sceptical. Very, very sceptical. You?

Until this quote is validated, don’t count on it as fact.
