"Yes I am. We are. I"m almost four months."
Not that we didn’t know… but finally, finally from Nicole’s own mouth. After walking around with a giant pillow covering her stomach for the better part of the last month, Nicole has revealed to Diane Sawyer that she and Joel are expecting and almost through her first trimester. Best thing about this is that, given her court appearance last week and the fact that her arms and legs are still so slim, under a loose fitting dress you can’t even tell. But that pillow was a nice touch, non?
I like Nicole Richie. I think Nicole Richie has *some* smarts. And she is being coached perfectly. Here’s what she told Diane about being in the public eye and about driving under the influence on the wrong side of the freeway:
"I have a responsibility and it"s something that I did wrong, and if I could personally apologize to every single person that has lost a loved one from drunk driving I would. And unfortunately I can"t, but this is my way of paying my dues and taking responsibility and being an adult."
Yes... 4 days is absolutely too little. 100% it is. But she is selling contrition. And she is showing accountability. And it’s attractive. Way more attractive than blaming the paparazzi or the media or weeping about it just in time to have your picture taken or having your mother cause a scene in the courthouse. Call me Cruise but I’m a little charmed. I like the way he’s holding her hand and looking down at her. She’s a savvy player, Nicole Richie. I buy for now.
The interview with Diane airs tomorrow and Friday and Nicole is expected to go into detail about what happened that lucky night in December – lucky because she didn’t murder anyone with her car. Hopefully her bullsh-t will be as believable as the statement above. Nicole is also expected to discuss the bad behaviour of her peers and why young Hollywood is so f*cked up.
