I feel like this is the only part of his Reddit AMA Lainey will care about. Reedus participated in an “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit over the weekend in order to promote his involvement with The Felix Organization (a group that benefits foster children). During the AMA someone asked what he wanted for Christmas and he replied, “A movie marathon in bed with a mountain of chocolate in a panda bear onesie.” My favorite thing about Reedus—besides his gun show—is that he’s obsessed with his cat. I, too, am the owner of a total-creeper black cat and it is a physical effort to restrain myself from posting photos of her 24/7. (She looks just like Toothless!) Reedus talked about his cat quite a bit, which I enjoyed.
But he talked the most about The Walking Dead. Reedus is the one guy who practically has immunity guaranteed. They’d kill off Rick and/or Carl before they’d get rid of Daryl, for, as the internet says, if Daryl dies, we riot. He did talk about Beth’s recent exit, though, saying he missed actress Emily Kinney “13” on a scale of 1-10 and named this mid-season finale as the saddest episode filmed yet. I never question the camaraderie of this cast—they spend a lot of time sweltering together in the blistering heat of rural Georgia. Either you get along under those circumstances or you end up burying a body in the backyard. He also named “The Grove” as his favorite episode of the show, the one in which Carol had to deal with Psycho Lizzie, and it is one of the top-five TWD episodes for sure.
The part I care about most, though, is that he dropped a little info about the next installment in the Silent Hill video game series. Reedus will star in the game, which is being developed by Guillermo Del Toro and Metal Gear Solid’s Hideo Kojima. My Christmas plans involve pajamas and at least fifteen solid hours logged on the Play Station, so I’m into the little nugget of info Reedus dropped about the status of Silent Hills. Unfortunately, it sounds like it’s a long way off as Reedus says they “haven’t shot the heavy stuff yet”. It’s not surprising—Kojima has Metal Gear Solid V in the works right now and Del Toro always has a million projects on the go, including the movie Crimson Peak which is due next year. So I’m going to have to wait a while to play a video game as Norman Reedus’s biceps. I’ll be playing as Wonder Woman’s weird vampire teeth in Injustice: Gods Among Us for the foreseeable future.
