Yay!

Spanish gossips reported earlier that Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem had split because she wanted babies and he didn’t. Apparently wrong. Because the two were photographed this weekend departing Geneva after enjoying some down time in the Alps.

Spanish sizzle is not dead.

Spanish sizzle will be in Hollywood next Sunday too! Both Pene and Javier have been nominated for Golden Globes though it’s highly unlikely they’ll walk together…unless campaign requirements dictate a change in strategy. Penelope is one of the front runners for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar. A nomination seems certain but to win it she’ll need some help.

Javier is the reigning Best Supporting Actor winner and it’s tradition for the reigning Best Supporting Actor to present the new Best Supporting Actress. How poetic would it be for Javier to call out his girl’s name?

But first they’ll have to give the Academy a reason to put them there…

Selling their relationship, and therefore appealing to the international reach of the Oscar telecast, which is one of the Academy’s priorities, might be a good start.
