The Cambridges and Hot Harry were on hand to celebrate the first stage of the Tour de France this weekend. Kate wore green and I wonder if she was too hot. She laughed and touched her stomach and everyone else is wondering if she's expecting another baby. They're waiting for the spare. They can't wait for the spare. Maybe she's waiting though because the thought of being pregnant while Big G the brute is still so wild is too stressful. Or maybe she should get pregnant now while he's not independent because once he becomes more mobile, all hell will break loose.

Yesterday Big G's parents were at Wimbledon for the men's final. It was the final we were all hoping for - great shotmaking, clutch points, momentum shifts, and emotional outbursts. Kate's family members were there too. Her mother, Pippa, I'm not bothering with those photos, sorry, but I’d rather do squats at this point than care about Pippa Middleton. The reason I’m mentioning them is because they sat separately. That’s protocol, of course, and front row in the royal box is reserved for first class only but at some point, it has to be weird. And family dynamics are weird enough even when there’s no aristocracy involved. I mean, for the rest of your life, you will always be behind your daughter/sister.

Unless, of course, you are the Wimbledon champion. The tradition is to do a quick post-match interview inside the clubhouse, then see your name engraved on the champions wall, then go up the stairs to meet and greet some VIPs, then go onto the balcony for wave.

The Cambridges were waiting for Novak Djokovic yesterday at the top of the stairs. And, as you'll see in the video, he couldn’t get away from them quick enough. Because it’s awkward making small talk with these people. And he just won the singles title. If he didn’t want to make small talk, he didn’t have to. Click here to view.
