Over at Dlisted, Michael K hilariously posits that Princess Catherine violated girl code by wearing a variation of off-white to Zara Phillips’s wedding. Now I know I don’t have the best vision, but this looks more, like, yellow to me. And it’s not like I’m defending her either because if someone chose this yellow or cream or white-family situation to my wedding, I actually wouldn’t mind since goddamn, if you want to put on something this ugly at my wedding and make me look even better, please, go ahead, giv’er.

Yes, I am less offended by the colour than by the style. She is 29 years old. She has chosen something more suitable for Camilla is all I’m saying.

Wellllll, it is a recycled coat from 2006. And she certainly didn’t attempt to detract from the bride...ish. I mean, there’s a lot of personality in that hat, non? I guess my point is that it’s the kind outfit that doesn’t seem to be able to make up its own mind. It wants to be one thing, and also the other. Not unlike the whole deliberate recycling thing with her wardrobe; it implies that she doesn’t have the time for frivolity, shopping, thinking too much about her clothes which...great. And then there’s the weight thing, because she likes being thin for the cameras, she’d rather look this way than 10 lbs heavier, and that suggests a vanity that may be incongruous with the no-frills princess image that she seems to be cultivating. Right now, we’re all so in love with her and still so dazzled by the fairy tale that it hasn’t been an issue. Later on though, as it does, when the honeymoon is over, these inconsistencies, they will be harder to ignore.

And who’s the Red Third Wheel? Well, he’s not really. But I do love it that Harry kinda tags along with Will and Kate at the family functions. “Hey, can I get a ride with you guys?”
