Arguments for:
-HeΓÇÖs a real life Prince. Like, if you were to draw a Prince without ever having seen a Prince, youΓÇÖd come up with him.
-HeΓÇÖs the son of the beloved Diana, now a full blown married adult man: we watched him grow up, thereΓÇÖs a sentimentality factor here.
-His big ass wedding was really popular.
-People love that he finally did the right thing and stopped making her wait.
-HeΓÇÖs responsible, philanthropic, intelligent, not a f-ck up like his brother, has a job, doesnΓÇÖt appear to be wasteful and out of touch.
-If ever there was a time to break with the back to back rule in naming a non-American to the tile, William would be the justification. Obviously.
Arguments against:
-In 2003, PEOPLE put Will on the cover and called him the WorldΓÇÖs Most Eligible Bachelor. ItΓÇÖs one thing to be eligible, but I donΓÇÖt know how respectful it is to be calling the future Monarch the Sexiest Man Alive. ItΓÇÖs a title the Palace may not have much regard for.
-It was clear from their wedding and subsequent comportment that the Cambridges are active participants in their image, and in crafting that image, Duty is paramount. They want to be taken seriously. They want to be thought of as young, serious, engaged royals. The SMA... doesnΓÇÖt go with the game plan. In fact, it could be the opposite. Every time he walks into the room, as the Prince, Duke, whatever, in the back of peopleΓÇÖs minds are they going to be like: oh yeah, and heΓÇÖs the Sexiest Man Alive too! Gross, right?
Odds: 15 to 1
