Annie does not HAVE to have red hair and freckles to sing Tomorrow. All Annie needs to be is alone. It’s a universal story. And it’s wonderful that this can be relatable in a different way. Willow Smith was originally supposed to be playing the part, you’ll recall. But she told her dad she wanted to be 12 (and then went on to sing songs about “summer flings”). So Quvenzhane got nominated for an Oscar and they were like – that’s our girl.
