There is a reason why Tom Cruise and his Robobride have been hustling so hard on the MiniVan Majority. Because aside from a few famous friends who have ulterior motives themselves, Tom Cruise doesn’t appear to have many fans in Hollywood. And especially not heavyweights Robert Redford and Meryl Streep.

In his column today, Roger Friedman notes that Robert was absent from the Cruise Tribute the other night, telling because the occasion would have been a fitting opportunity to promote their film. Meryl Streep also didn’t bother to show. And while both have provided graceful and convenient excuses, word is it all boils down to one thing:

They can’t stand the bitch.

Redford is apparently turned off by the Tom’s megalomania and also doesn’t approve of his bedfellows – namely wealthy financiers who may or may not be in the process of Xenu-recruitment.

As such, the two Oscar winning legends are keeping their distance. And industry insiders say it’s a smart move. Lions for Lambs is predicted to tank this weekend at the box office… unless the MiniVan can save it. Which is very possible. The MiniVan also saved Wild Hogs, remember?

Valkyrie’s summer release also has Hollywood scoffing – how out of touch do you have to be to believe that a movie about a one-eyed Nazi general is going to own the box office?

Attached – another shot of Tom lookin’ all sexy and sh*t with his perm.
