Still of Ryan Gosling from the upcoming Lars and the Real Girl, premiering at TIFF in September. Said it before and I’ll say it again – the Toronto International Film Festival continues to be regarded as the true start to award season with many releases bidding for Oscar gold strategically choosing TIFF as a launch pad.
About Ryan – as previously mentioned, had a hard time picturing him as Susie Salmon’s father in the film adaptation of The Lovely Bones. But seeing these photos, knowing his acting prowess, it’s becoming more and more palatable. With the right costuming and a few studied character quirks – for which he is quickly earning a glowing reputation – Ryan could very well be Mr Salmon. Word is he’s already practicing a “voice”.
And because Peter Jackson is directing – heads up New Zealand: Ryan will be with you…if he isn’t already.
