It was the first time for some, and the 6th time for others. For all of you, 800 of you(!), I hope it was worth it. Especially the ones who travelled from Thunder Bay, Ottawa, Montreal, and London! Thank you for coming!

And thanks to The Society because without their leadership, it's really not the same party. Without you though, well, it’s simply not possible. Please know how grateful I am to you for visiting this blog and for reading the articles and for being engaged in the content. Please also know how much I appreciate you indulging my mother - taking photos of her, encouraging her, basically giving her a bigger ass head than the one she already has. She couldn’t sleep she was so excited last night. And she kept calling me to tell me how awesome it was that it turned into a get-well party for her. So, you know, there’s that.

Did you love your gift bags? They were FULL, right? And they included a copy of my favourite book of 2011, Your Voice In My Head by Emma Forrest. So now you don’t have an excuse not to read it!

Next year will be #8. You’re coming back, right?

Here’s a review of what went down last night, just to give you some incentive. Because I want to see you for SMUT 2013!

This year, we returned to the beautiful and eco-friendly Evergreen Brick Works, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting outstanding organizations dedicated to sustainability and eco-responsibility.

Thanks to our sponsors for making this possible:

Smuthounds primped and coiffed at the John Frieda® Frizz-Ease®Style Hair Lounge where a fleet of their top stylists were on hand to provide hair touch-ups, tips, and tricks. Whether you have long flowing locks a la Blake Lively or sport a short & sweet style like Michelle Williams, the John Frieda® Frizz-Ease® team gave you the Hollywood red-carpet treatment with their expertise and arsenal of top products.

And you were GORGEOUS. You clearly wanted to win the SMUT Style Award presented by H&M, Canada’s leading retailer and savvy street-style trailblazer, along with FLARE, Canada’s fashion magazine. They’ve narrowed down the finalists. Click here to vote! The lucky winner will not only walk away with a shopping spree from H&M, but will also enjoy a private styling consultation with one of FLARE's fashion editors. Watch for a picture of the winner, as chosen by online voters, on Flare.com, Canada’s leading publication on all things fashion & lifestyle.

PUMA was on hand to keep things fashion-forward with their Fall/Winter 2012 Black Label Footwear Collection. Smut Hounds in attendance were the first to check out these styling kicks by Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan.

Those of you who wanted to throw your hat into the SMUT Style Award ring hit up the evening’s beauty station, receiving star treatment from Stila Cosmetics makeup touch-ups, lash applications by Ardell Lashes, and manicures by imPRESS Press-On Manicure by Broadway Nails.

Waxon Waxbar technicians were also on hand offering complimentary eyebrow waxes and threading as well as applying prtty peaushun- the highly sought after skin tight body lotion proven to give you that celeb worthy glow.

YellowKorner provided a pop-up gallery to get attendees’ personalized celeb prescriptions! This Parisian democratic art gallery is coming to Canada and their team of art consultants helped identify which A-lister’s style most accurately reflected their tastes.

The wine was flowing courtesy Jacob’s Creek™ Moscato.  Beer fans were treated to Kronenbourg Blanc, and those craving cider sipped Somersby.  Lastly, Bacardi was on hand quenching our thirst with the most delicious Strawberry SMUT Mojitos.  They have also offered up 2 tickets to the Florence & The Machine Show in Toronto, August 2nd.  All you need to do is tweet #BacardiBackstage before 12pm Eastern Wednesday, June 27th and you'll be entered to win!  Contest rules and regulations on www.bacardicanada.com

glacéau vitaminwater provided some of the non-alcoholic hydration including the new vitaminwater zero, naturally sweetened with zero calories. (Look closely at the bottles. That’s me!)

As the evening wrapped, gossips grabbed a Red Bull for an evening pick-me-up and keep the party going. The new Red Bull Total Zero is delivering the energy and wings of the original, but without the calories, carbs, or sugar!

And a HUUUUGE thanks to Event Producer Martina at White Bow Events for helping everyone keep their sanity and coordinating the big night. Could not have happened without her.
