Acclaimed young actress Saoirse Ronan attended the Irish premiere of Shrek yesterday in a pair of steezy pink chucks with a blazer, topped off with light green Ray-Bans which obviously I love because I have them too. (Photo attached from Barbados)

Saoirse, now 16, is always at the top of the list for discussion on who should play Katniss Everdeen in Suzanne Collins’s The Hunger Games film adaptation. I don’t give The Hunger Games enough love, and I am sorry for this. It’s because I’m waiting for the series to be complete with the release of the third book Mockingjay in August. Since Collins is writing the screenplay, am not as worried as I am about Katniss getting f-cked up the way Hollywood could f-ck with Lisbeth Salander but still...

The selection is important. And much as I love Saoirse, whoever is Katniss needs to be a bold virginal declaration, someone fresh to play a character so fresh and forceful and utterly unforgettable.

Remember when you first met Emma Watson as Hermione? And you were like – oh Hiiiiiii Hermione! There you are Hermione!

This is what I hope for when we meet Katniss too. Because if she’s right, if she’s pitch tone perfect, wouldn’t that be an experience in itself, before the movie even begins?
