As noted in the open, the Costume Institute Gala goes down tonight and it’s a tribute to the late Lee McQueen and his label Alexander McQueen. Great timing. On Friday, Kate Middleton arrived at Westminster Abbey in a gown designed by Sarah Burton, the Creative Director of the House of McQueen and now just three days later, McQueen is being celebrated at the most high profile fashion event of the year.

If you’ve been reading my blog long enough, there’s nothing quite like the Met Gala.

So it’s like we’ve come first circle. Did you know that Lee McQueen apprenticed on Savile Row? And that he was once assigned to work on a jacket for Prince Charles? And in that lining of that jacket, he wrote:

“I am a c-nt.”

Anyway, here’s the triumphant Burton, with Stella McCartney and Anna Wintour, at the Met today, with a preview of the McQueen exhibit.

Will be posting full coverage of the event tomorrow. MAJOR dress porn.
