I wish it didn’t take the holidays to motivate us all to be better human beings, but it’s better than nothing. I want to introduce you to this very progressive company out of Detroit called The Empowerment Plan. Their mission is to permanently elevate families from the generational cycle of homelessness. And their way of making a difference is with the EMPWR Coat. And dudes, this is one superman of a coat! It not only transforms into a sleeping bag at night but also converts into an over-the-shoulder bag when not in use. This is no joke a life saver.

Okay, but I haven’t gotten to the best part - The Empowerment Plan doubles down on its mission by hiring single parents from local shelters in the city, trains them, and gives them full-time employment as the seamstresses who make the EMPWR Coat. So the cycle of negativity then becomes that of positive change, empowerment and most of all autonomy.
