Hey Sasha, I'm already dreading the end of the summer and the thought of long winter in Toronto. I'll have to walk some distance to work in the upcoming snowstorms, and I'm having the toughest time looking for good waterproof boots to prepare for the season ahead. I'm an Ugg girl and I can't help myself... but they're hard to clean so I avoid wearing it in the storm/grey slush. So what kind of waterproof boots should I look for? Thank you! –R
R, I’m so glad someone asked this question because I’ve been dying to share my latest love. Ready for the big reveal?
Cougars.
(Lainey: true story. I was sitting beside Sasha when her new Cougars arrived. I wanted them.)
Yep, if you’re Canadian then you’ll remember pillow boots back in the day. They haven’t changed much and that’s A-Okay by me. They are so comfortable, so warm and check out that slick red lining. They’re totally my winter jam. But, if that’s too blast for the past for your ass, then check out something like this or this from their collection.
I was recently introduced to Moov boots by a friend at work - she says they are the best winter boots she’s ever had. I’m all up for a fashion game changer so they’re worth a try. They’re like a wellie winter boot combo - check out their “Classic” in black at their online store here.
If you’re looking for something that still has an Ugg feel but with more practicality then take a look at these great boots by La Canadienne.
Finally have you heard of Native Shoes? They are a rad Vancouver brand that I really support, and if you’re looking for more waterproof than warm, check out their new style called The Jimmy. Throw some woolies in there and you’ll be good to go.
