My best friend is getting married in August and as her MOH I am trying to help her out whenever I can. She is looking for a pair of sandals or peep toe pumps that a vibrant blue shoe. She was considering LV but the electric blue she wanted is thousands of dollars! We can't seem to find anything close to that! She is looking for something different (at a reasonable price! I know how important it is to find a killer pair of heels for the big day, but if you’re not rolling out like Lil’ Wayne, then save your dough and spend it elsewhere. I’m just of the mind frame that one shoe shot for the wedding album isn’t worth 2 G’s.

So I’ll start bargain basement styles. Check out these. I mean, if you’re looking for some throwaways then this would be a good pick. And I’m really surprised that I’m enjoying the gaudy sparkle on the toe. Just me?

Keeping on the cheap tip, what do you think of these?

After getting back into Celebrity Apprentice this season I really took a liking to Ivanka Trump. I feel like if you were to peel back the layer of ‘proper’, there’s a real fun bitch in there. Anyway, her style is pretty impeccable and if that’s what you’re into, then you’ll like her shoe line. Now, I’m no fan of satin, but I know some brides that are, so if that’s your flavor click here.

If you’ve got a bit of an edge and want to seriously stomp it out then check out these Pierre Hardy heels and these Jerome Rousseau ones. What’s great about both options is you can continue to wear the sh*t out of them beyond the wedding day.

Lastly, I’m loving these Chloe heels. These are the kind of shoes that make even the mangiest of feet look good. These are the winners for me.

This season I’m obsessed with nude dresses....nude, light pink and even white. I've been looking what feels like everywhere for a nude, flow-y dress with a cinched waist so i don't look preggers. HELP!

Isn’t it the worst when someone thinks your preggers and you’re not? I think it’s happened to all of us, right? Dear god, right?!!!! Anyway a comment like that can be like a dump in the face so I vow to give you some form flattering dress ideas.

If you’re looking for something casual, maybe for a summer wedding, then I love the look of this Top Shop number. I love the sash detail on the front and I’m totally into the black exposed zipper in the back.

Next if you’re looking for something a bit flirty then check out this BCBG dress. Who doesn’t love good tiered dress to spin around in? So if you can work this kind of pretty - go for it.

This next dress is very Halston-esque, but also has a great vintage appeal to it as well. If you tossed on a jean jacket, tied your hair in a top-knot, and put on a pair of flat sandals – you’ll look damn adorable.

For another casual day time dress check out this. A total no brainer for mornings when everything you own sucks.

Oh how I love a good kaftan and this short ASOS one is rad. Again, so simple yet so on point. Pair this up with some flat brown t-strap sandals and you’re gold.

Finally for a bit of drama I’m going to end on my favorite dress of the week. Look at this Alice + Olivia gown. If you’ve got anywhere special to go - f-ck it - if you’re even looking for a different spin on a wedding dress then get this dress so I can live vicariously through you.

Look, I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable or make you do something, but I’m going to anyway because a bright lipstick is a life saver in my books. That’s dramatic but you get what I mean. If you’re having an ugly day or looking beat up, then a bright pop on the pucker makes you look a thousand times better. It’s the perfect distraction from sleepy looking eyes. Take Cameron Diaz for example. Let’s be honest….girl’s face looks straight up old and haggard most of the time, but when she’s wearing a bright color on her lips she all of a sudden looks more youthful. So L, I’m really encouraging you to try it out.

My favorite look on a red head is bright red lips. Really, I think it’s the sexiest thing – check out Christina Hendricks below. Right? Now before you start freaking, hear me out. You don’t have to lather on the red - just dab a hit on the top and bottom lip and then rub it in all over, you’ll get that perfect stained look. Avoid a deep dark red and venture for something on the bright side. Try out Covergirl’s lipstick in hot or Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Sweet Nectar.

Now if that is way too progressive then start out with a pink. Say what you want about Nicole Kidman’s jacked up vagina lips but she looks great in a pink stick. Give Lancôme’s Rose Veil a whirl or hit up the Dior counter for some great pink shades. You can even go for a softer pink like Lancôme’s L’Absolu Nu in 201 a la Blake Lively or Julianne Moore. But that’s a bit bore town, so I say go big or go home.

I guess the point here is to just experiment and see what works and try it out in baby steps. Start wearing it to the grocery store, then out shopping, then when you start getting in the groove, bust it out on a party night.
