Dear Hayley,  I have a pear shaped body, and although I’m very slim I have “cankles”. I hate that word. My legs from the knees down, look a lot like [a certain actress] but without all the exercise she does. Dear Hayley,  I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant with my third child. In my past pregnancies, I had been able to do some workouts, like running and circuit training, although scaled way down, and found the workouts to be extremely helpful in getting energy back and combatting morning sickness. Full Article

It doesn’t seem to matter how long it has been since I have been in school, years of years of fresh paper, pens and binders being carefully placed into a new backpack along with new goals of straight As has instilled in me this sense of a fresh start in September. I can’t be the only one who feels this way? So in this fresh start of 2018 I have decided to dive into the world of yoga and I’m working on my 200 hour teacher training. Full Article

Hi Hayley,  As I write this I’m feeling very discouraged (and sorry for myself). I’ve managed to get into a really good rhythm with exercise this year: I’ve been running with a friend 3x per week for the last several months and we recently ran a 10k race (my first in 17 years) and we’re training for more. Full Article

Hayley, I am 8 weeks post unplanned c section. I got the all clear at 6 weeks to work out and even start running. I was very active during my pregnancy doing HITT work outs, swimming and yoga (all with modifications). Then during my 6 weeks after surgery I was able to walk a lot, thanks to living in an amazing city. Full Article

Hi Hayley! Looking to get some guidance from you as you’ve mentioned your love for the Pilates reformer.  I’ve historically done majority HIIT and circuit type workouts but have hit a bit of rut. I’m less interested in losing weight and more interested in toning and lengthening and for reference, don’t have a long and lean body type. Full Article

Hi Hayley: I'm training for my first marathon this fall. Yay, turning 30 bucket list! I am using Hal Higdon's Novice 1 training program, which seems to be going okay so far. I'm also losing weight, which is great, because I had a bit to lose. However, as I lose weight, I'm noticing more flab. Full Article

I had a client the other day ask me to recommend to her a way that she could lose weight quickly, and if you have been reading this column enough you already know what my answer is. There is no way to lose weight quickly…but she wanted more clarification and started to ask me about all of the fad diets that she hears about in the media, the lunch room and the locker room at the gym. Full Article

A few weeks ago, a mentor of mine asked me a question while we were discussing pain and pain management. He asked me what kind of relationship I had with my body. Hi Hayley! I need help! I am very out of shape at the moment and need a plan to get back on track. I've always been active with "beer league" sports a couple times a week (ball hockey, volleyball, tennis, etc.). However, recently I broke a finger and also had wrist surgery for a herniated muscle (apparently very rare!), so I am only now slowly getting back into these activities. Full Article
